August 2010 is a memorable date for
these Innkeepers at Meadows Inn. Ten years of meeting and
greeting guests at 212 Pollock Street in beautiful downtown
historic New Bern, NC. It has been a labor of love and hard
work building up a bed & breakfast business that had been the
premiere B&B in New Bern for 20 years. We will be celebrating
the 30 years with our guests this month with a special rate and
carry it over into a weekday rate into 2011.
The Civil War package will be
introduced this fall for groups of 10 or more friends, who truly
appreciate the history of the past. The emphasis on “everything
antebellum” will be the focus for this package, whether on a
weekend or during the week. For the mystery lovers, dates have
been put on the calendar for our Murder Mystery dinner
packages.
As our hot summer winds down, we are
hopeful of once again enjoying a beautiful fall in New Bern.
The newly replaced Cunningham bridge is open and the
directions to Meadows Inn are once again very simple and
straight forward. There are 3 new downtown restaurants to
join the current delicious dining in our downtown. We have
many activities to look forward to with the Tryon Palace History
Center opening soon and the “Jubilee”weekend in
September.October will bring Mumfest & our ever popular Ghost
Walk.
We are grateful for the guests we meet
at Meadows Inn. We are reminded of a quote that truly
applies:
“Let us be grateful to people who make
us happy. They are the charming gardeners who make our souls
blossom” – Marcel Proust
